The date for this years Capital Brewers Potluck is the 21st of July.
Location: Dublin 6

If you missed the previous potluck and you're wondering what it's all about, the official definition of a potluck is... "a meal or party to which each of the guests contributes a dish"... and in this case, some homebrew as well!

We had a great mixture of food last time. Some people made bread, others brought salads and dips, the vegetarians were kept happy and meat eaters were kept even happier.
Have a look at the list from our previous potluck, it should give you an idea of the types of things people brought along https://www.nationalhomebrewclub.ie/forum/capital-brewers/capital-potluck-in-july-2nd-(capcon)/45/

Ideally, any beers you bring should be brewed to suit the summer/barbecue season and therefore be kept fairly sessionable.
Micheál has offered to lend us his keg chiller, so we'll be able to set up some taps again. I think we had 4-5 kegs pouring the last time. If you don't keg, don't worry, there'll be plenty of space for keeping bottles chilled as well.

If you're interested in taking part, leave your name on the list below. You can edit your proposed food and/or beer contribution at a later stage, I'm just trying to guage the level of interest for now.

If you want to bring along your wife, girl friend, boy friend etc. that's no problem at all.  Just stick them down on the list as a plus one so I know how many people we're dealing with.

Kegs, bottles, equipment etc. can be dropped over to my place the day before so don't worry about trying to drive here on the day. If you don't have a car I'm sure we could organise for someone to collect your stuff and drop it off for you. The number 15 bus stops right outside the gate so thats an option as well.

In Mexico
I went for a walk to inhale
the tranquil, cool, lover's air
but I could taste a trace
of American chemical waste
And the small voice said
"What can we do?"
Every little helps

Only 2 weeks to go until the Capital Potluck Party!! Hopefully we won't have used up our quota of sunny days beween now and the 21st!

Is there anyone else who plans to attend but hasn't put their name down yet?

Don't forget, if you want to bring along your wife, girl friend, boy friend etc. that's no problem at all.  Just stick them down on the list as a plus one so I know how many people we're dealing with.

I want to get a final tally of numbers fairly soon as I'll be ordering disposable catering supplies etc. next week. I found some polycarbonate "glassware" which should be an improvment on those regular plastic cups. I'll set up a paypal donation link in order to cover the cost of the glasses, charcoal, plates, cutlery etc. It'll probably work out to €2-3 per person, nothing too extravagant.

We also need to organise a few extra bits and pieces that I'm hoping some of you might be able to provide. Kegging is not my forte so if there is anyone who would like to voluteer to help me with this aspect it'd be greatly appreciated.
The kegs will be at ambient temperature and passing through the cooler for serving. Not sure what length of lines we'll need but flow controlled faucets might be a better approach than trying to balance them.  I recently bought an Intertap faucet with flow control but we'll need a second one. We'll also need some JG fitting to connect it all up, I have some but not enough to cover the job. Last time someone provided a tank of mixed pub gas, is that available again?

- Beer Cooler - Micheál
- 2x Beer Faucets with flow control+shank to mount it -  Anil +
- Beer line
- John Guest fittings
- Mixed gas or co2
- Double Regulator

Kegs, bottles, equipment etc. can be dropped over to my place the day before so don't worry about trying to drive here on the day. If you don't have a car I'm sure we could organise for someone to collect your stuff and drop it off for you. The number 15 bus stops right outside the gate so thats an option as well.
