Title: Porter / Stout Kit Recommendation
Post by: DD Brewers on January 20, 2021, 09:50:23 PM
I have read the available reviews and previous posts and would like some final advice.

I am looking for a solid porter/stout kit which I intend in later brews to hack with chocolate / coffee/ whiskey wood chips. I will be bottle conditioning.  I have only made one porter before - St Peter's Honey Porter. Way too much honey and not enough porter for my taste.

Since all tastes are personal... I like in order  #1 Porter House Plain, #2 Guinness, #3 Beamish (but only if I am Cork and don't want to offend).

The kits that come out best in the reviews I have read are the St Peters Cream Stout and the Coopers Irish Stout.  There was a good review of the Craft Range Stout but HMW don't seem to carry it anymore.

All suggestions welcome (as long as they are stout related).

Dave
