I have a Munich Dunkel that's finished fermenting. I did a diacetyl rest for a couple of days and now I've chilled it down to 1 degree.
I could siphon it off into glass carboys and lager it in those but I was wondering if I could avoid oxygen exposure by just bottling straight away, priming for a couple of weeks and then lagering in the bottles? Anyone got an opinion?
Unless you have a zero oxygen transfer method then I would suggest doing that as little as possible. What sort of vessel is it in, you say you have chilled to 1C. As you chill down, you absorb the blanket of co2 and create suction which can cause a vessel to collapse. If you have it in a sealed vessel, then first add a co2 supply to fill the void and from there bottle or fill a corney.
