Title: Holland's for Garden county brewers
Post by: Damo on March 30, 2013, 04:41:12 PM
Hi All

I'm just back from speaking with Brian Holland

Were good to go  :)
barley got my request out, he couldn't be happier to act as host! I think he was more excited about the prospect of the meetings than I was.

I explained the first meet would be just a meet-up with no homebrew and then subsequent meets with homebrew.

So, now we need a date in april.  Any suggestions?

Edit:
You see what my subconscious did there! Barley on the brain. ;D

Guys Wicklow won one of the new Kits from Homebrew west.
Two requirements for free beer and to get it for yourself
1) you have to be a kit brewer
2) you have to write a review

I'd love this myself only I have about 8 kits patiently waiting for me to get around to. ::)

I can do both of these things, if no-one else is interested I'll do it. Do the rules preclude me from hacking the kit?

No Hacking!
You have to be a true Kit brewer, I know you are AG but nice try ;)
Thomo or AJ will probably draw straws!

I would have seen myself as someone who did all 3 types of brewing...  :P
still, no problem if you want to get someone who just does kits to do the brewing on this - it has been a while since I did a kit so I may be rusty  :)

A big thanks  to all in attendance on thurs.

It was great to see some familiar faces and to meet the new lads!

I think were in good hands with Brian Holland, It was a nice touch to provide us with samples. Talking with him afterwards he mentioned that he'd be more than happy to support us in any way as we move forwards and upwards :) There was talk of setting up a regular tasting of new beers to try and gain feed back ;D

Write up to follow...

Great write up!

Quote from Front Page:

The "Bray Brauhaus" will be cleared of furniture next week and a comprehensive detailed plan has been put in place to deliver 220 Litres in 5 weeks time.

Will be interesting see that squeeze into a 162 Litre barrel!!

With top ups you need mote like One Hundred and Aythty (180)L

The idea was that it was much nicer to have too much and be bottling a bit extra now than to have too little and have the keg dry out. So if we end up with beer to drink while we're waiting for the barrel-aged stuff to mature, well, it's not the worst outcome in the world now is it?
