Title: My journey continues
Post by: belfastjacko on September 28, 2017, 07:01:33 PM
Today I built something similar to this
http://www.instructables.com/id/Build-Your-Own-Brewery-for-Under-100-STEP-1-/?amp_page=true

Built it all in for £60ish, have a few bits and pieces left over I can use in future builds. I know the general consensus is to use a large cool box as the starting point for your mash tun, but I have budgeted to upgrade to an all in one system in the new year. I wanted to upgrade from BIAB which I haven't been overly impressed (probably my technique more than anything) but I also didn't want to spend a fortune, this was a happy middle place.

I tested it with just water and she only dropped about 4c in an hour, and that was without insulation on the lid, so looks like she's a go'er.

Gonna get a brew day in the next couple of weeks to see how it goes!

Good stuff Jacko.
My first few AG beers were on very similar and produced a few good-uns.
Grab an old quilt and some spare baler twine to lag it.
