Title: Frozen
Post by: belfastjacko on November 02, 2017, 09:48:12 AM
Let it snow let it snow!

No but seriously had a freezer issue during the week, had my freezer set to -1.5, but somehow it dropped to -5 and the beer in my line froze solid. Couldn't check the keg properly. If it was also frozen, it's ruined right?

Couple of bottles also froze solid, there was much crying done on Monday night.

If it's already fermented out I'm guessing it should be fine.  You can either let it thaw or throw the ice out and call it an eisbock.

Aye, froze a batch before. Ended up grand, carbed up in the bottles ok too.

Was the clearest beer I've ever made!

Aye this was made a long time ago was in a corny keg read for serving. Had a glass there tonight was massively over carbed and not great..... although that's more to do with the brewer than the cold to be fair. P

Turn off gas. Burp it. Wait.
Repeat until carb settles.
