Altbier?

Think you're on the right direction with the Alt - looking at the description, quite close, possibly lighter in colour, but an amber hybrid-y thing.
Not brewed to a true style, just an easy summer drinker, using Mangrove Jacks M54 Cal Lager yeast.
I'd be interested to see your recipe for Black Sheep Bitter, Peter. I've brewed the Graham Wheeler recipe a number of times but it always turned out lacking something. Progress are a hop I struggle with normally, but in this case it was probably down to the yeast used; S-04.

you need their yeast and you need to ferment in a Yorkshire stone square fermenter
Used Wyeast 1469 West Yorkshire, so similar type of strain.
They've gone stainless, 'rounds' now - very much open.
Going to try it again with a v loose FV lid in ferment fridge - reckon pressure from lid/bubbler effects yeast, needs space to breathe.
Is the next Bray meet on July 12th? Will try make it along if so. Cheers.

See you then hopefully
