My ancestors are originally from Cleggan in Galway county and migrated to Iowa where I currently live. I have been homebrewing on and off for 33 years, and I personally enjoy Ireland's Red Ales and Stouts. I am hoping to travel to Ireland this or next year, and enjoy some truly local beers.

Welcome to the forum, mate. If you visit Galway when you're over, you should be able to sample some very good beers from Galway Bay Brewery. Also, Kinnegar Brewery from Donegal have a very good range. Any idea which counties you might visit?
