Shit I didn't realise these induction hobs were so expensive. My kitchen Ikea one was €200 but the most powerful ring is only 2100w. Wonder can I straddle a couple of them :)
Do you have 4 induction heads on your hob and if so can all 4 be on at the same time.
Yeah it's this one

I know you can straddle them but do you know how much power is going into the pot if it's only covering part of each head. Does it get the full power of each head or is it relative to the surface area used?

My new pot arrived today so I'll give it a shot this weekend.

imark

I think it's relative to the coverage so don't expect full power.

Looky Charms

Sorry if I'm missing something about the mybeerandwine site but they don't seem to have any encryption in operation. How can I use a credit card safely on this site. I'd love to buy one of these pots too but feel too nervous about using credit card.

Just as a heads up, I got a stainless steel ruler online (600mm) to use as a measuring stick. Due to the dimensions of the boiler, its very easy to measure the volume using this ruler....100mm depth of water  = 10 litres of water...150mm depth of water = 15 litres of water.....basically every 10mm is an extra litre. Dead handy

Its for the boiler in the OP by the way

Thanks for the tip, picked one up in Woodies today and it works a treat.

Hey, I was just wondering about the boiler the OP posted:
http://www.mybeerandwine.ie/brew-kettles/190-economy-30-litre-mash-tun.html

Does anyone know the dimensions of the unit? Diameter and height. Sorry to resurrect and old thread but I'm interested in this unit but I have space constraints and I'm looking into getting a false bottom for it also.

Thanks in advance,
Sim

D: 36cm
H: 34cm

I got one a while back and have done about 5 or 6 brews in it since. It's working out nicely. Good at the price!

I thought that company has gone?

simglynn

Thanks for the speedy reply! It will fit nicely I think.

Hopefully the company is still going, I might call them to double check. I think the homebrewcompany.ie sell the same one but for another 125e. Cheers!

A full members discount will help bring the two prices closer.  ;)

With free delivery above 150 in addition to the discount I'd get with a full members discount, I think I'll go with the Homebrew Company. One more question just to wreck peoples heads.
Using this mash tun and this kind of false bottom:
https://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/stainless-steel-30-litre-mash-tun-p-2278.html
https://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/false-bottom-ss-225cm-diameter-p-1481.html
what kind of fittings do I need to get to connect the false bottom to the tap? And what size tubing do I need also?
I appreciate the help!

you'd need this for inside the kettle https://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/12-npt-male-x-38-barb-straight-hose-fitting-p-2579.html

and then some 3/8 silicone tubing to connect the 2.
