There is a homebrew section for beers, cider and wines in this year's Clondalkin Handcraft & Horticultural Show. The competition will take place over the weekend of the 30th of June/1st of July 2018 (the homebrew event is on the 1st of July).
The competition is open to residents of South Dublin County Council
Entrants are required to submit 3 bottles per entry (any size bottle is acceptable). Bottles will not be returned.
The judge on the day will be using The American Brewers Association Guidelines for beer judging and each beer will be scored out of 20 based on appearance, aroma, flavour and trueness to type.

The proposed registration categories are as follows;
·  Lager (incl. Pils, Helles, Bock, Dunkel)
·  Porter & Stout (incl. Irish, British and American styles)
·  IPA (incl. British style IPA, American style IPA, Dark IPA, White IPA)
·  Ales - Red / Brown / Amber Ale / Pale (incl. Kolsh and Irish, British and American styles)
·  Speciality (incl. barrel aged, fruit beers, wheat beer, Belgian style, smoked, High alcohol,  >7.5% ABV, chocolate / coffee / other flavours)

Each entrant should add the following details for each of their beers:
·        Beer Name
·        Beer style – see above
·        Alcohol (or Original Gravity)
·        Ingredients
·        Any special brewing process e.g. bottle conditioned, barrel aged etc.

Entry forms are attached to this post (these forms also have some more information about the competition as a whole). Please fill out the form and attach it one of the bottles along with entry fees. Bottle drop off dates TBC

Also on the day, Liffey Brewers homebrew club will be demonstrating the various equipment and ingredients used in homebrewing and offering advice and information on the day to brewers of all levels, so if you know someone who may be attending on the day and would have an interest in homebrewing let them know that we'll be there on the day.  :)

Thank you for your interest
