So I bought two of these:

but I didn't check if they were food grade or anything. You reckon they're safe to use with wort?

Is that the same as the tan ones everyone has?

Grand job. Not sure if any has used this site before but came across it doing my most recent research:

http://www.ussolarpumps.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=71_116

It's free shipping worldwide as well. Pumps are categorised as food grade and there's a tonne of options.

Looks very similar to the ones I use and bought from here http://shop.solarproject.co.uk/newshop/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=2&products_id=10&osCsid=otlu3l36vsm74j5nl5riooncb3

Never a days problem and they work silently in the background too ;)

I have used these and continue to use them. I would add though that as they are not designed to be used for wort, its stickyness can cause the pump to jam and burn out if you don't clean them properly. Run them for about 20 minutes after use with a water solution with a little bit of washing up liquid and water temperature of about 60C. The combination of soap and temperature will ensure that any residual wort is washed away.

I recently purchased two of these pumps and I'd love to be able to power them from a brew controller. Would I be right in thinking I could use this LED driver to power them from my 230v supply?

Or am I totally missing the ball here?

It will work, just check the Amperage on the pump. The output from this is 2A, go over this and something week go pop. Consider automotive fuses in line on the 12v side.

Yep thought something like that might be necessary. Great thanks john

Used this for the first time today and have to say I was very impressed. It pumped through my CFC and back up to the boiler without issue. After brewing I ran it for 15 mins with steriliser and then submerged it and ran it with some soapy warm water so hopefully I won't have any stuck parts.

The only issue I had was with priming it and getting a consistent flow at the start. Does anyone have any tips?
