I've only ever brewed kits and one BIAB.Have always used Tesco Ashbeck bottled water but purchased a Bulldog Brewer recently and thinking on using tap water from here on in.Does anyone know if the tap water in Derry needs any additions for all grain?

Thanks for that. Anyone ever tested the pH? I've seen that mentioned. Will need to invest in some more equipment so I can find this out myself. Just wondering if anything should be added to the water to make it better for brewing.

Get yourself some pH strips.Generic shall get you in the ballpark of 5 but. You can get beer pH strips that range in the 0.2 on fleabay.

Some gypsum/campden tablets wouldn't go a miss, assuming you're making pale ales or lagers.  They'll give you a fuller hop flavour.

IMO, there's no need to bother with buying bottled water.

Cheers lads. Will give that a go.
