Was hoping you would answer the following questions.
1. What exchange rate are you using for Sterling to Euros? Are you adding anything on for yourself to cover yourself against currency changes.
2. I assume that your getting a single pallet delivered that take a maximum weight and that the cost of transport is proportional to the weight of the items that people order. For example if the max weight is a ton (1000 KG) and somebody orders 100 KG of stuff then they pay 10% of the transport charge.
3. When will you post the details of your account for us to transfer the money to?
4. Where are you storing the stuff once it is delivered?

Hi Shanna, thanks for the questions. I threw up the post in haste earlier due to such a small window of opportunity.
1) I will check the going AIB rate tomorrow afternoon and post tomorrow evening the going exchange and final euro prices. I'll just take the hit if they are down and donate to the NHC if they are up.
2) Correct.
3) I will pm all geniuenly interested and confirmed brewers tomorrow evening.
4) The pallet is being delivered to a warehouse on Dublin Citys Northside, not far from Capel St. It is secure and dry but obviously they are offering this at no extra cost to us out of a common passion for brewing, hence the malt would ideally have to be picked up reasonably soon after delivery.

Thanks for the patience guys but some slightly badISH news, a few of the different types of grain ordered will take longer than others, Farams has said realistically delivery won't be until second half of June. We can either hold off and wait, or we can order from Fawcetts for a speedier delivery and ill re imburse the diff. I personally don't mind waiting as I'm really looking forward to the Weyermanns stuff.

Sorry, I didn't get online yesterday.
Upon (FINALLY) speaking to a customer service rep on the phone yesterday myself and Brian have decided to pull the Farams order and do not intend on using them again for reasons I will happily discuss in the members area or via PM.
MASSIVE apologies for the huge delay in people getting their order.
We now have 3 options;
1) I will refund people their money
2) Fawcetts
3) Bairds
The Weyermann products will unfortunately not be ordered as Farams are sole distributer. (There may be an option of getting Weyermann from White Gypsy though, I think it was Taf who was in dialogue with Cuilan)

I was not involved but am disappointed for all that the Weyermann didn't work out.

I had ordered muntons marris otter and crystal malt. If these can still be ordered from Fawcett or Bairds I would still like to proceed and get them if possible. If you need extra money for increased cost of transport or for expensive malt price please let me know. If this can't be ordered from the alternative suppliers then I will take a refund please.

I presume this means all the crystal/caramalts are this price unless specifically stated otherwise. For example we need to specify as per spec sheet 1 x Pale Crystal Malt, 1 x Crystal Malt II
Thats exactly how it reads on the price-list so I'm not 100% sure there actually-I'll fire off an email now and I'll chase up the DME request. At last contact they don't actually supply it themselves but were investigating sourcing some for our order as there is nearly 100kg being sought.

Just asking as im low on black, choc and crystal. Ive already put my name in for a split as John RM offered his desire to split.
I'd take forever to get thru 25kg of choc, roast or amber.
Im on the reserve list to split munich and or vienna, I'd gladly split a 25kg bag with someone as I make regular altbiers and would use it up in a month or so.

Itll be a battle for me to get into the city to collect, I will if I have to but itll take the goodness outa the good value grain if I drive to dublin specially (20 euros diesel).
So just checking maybe someone works near capel street who could pick up the grain and take it somewhere closer to accessible roads for us! :) wud be appreciated

I can't remember the prices as it was nearly 18 months ago now. However I haggled with him and drove him down on the price when I bought four. If I was doing it again I would take a trailer and get a bunch of people to club together. He had a whole shed full of them. I use them to store grain and other brewing bits and bobs. They are so far rodent proof, air and water tight and easy to stack when empty. Word to the wise the 150l are pretty big and would not fit in my car boot. I would advise where ever you buy them to invest in the banded lids that seal tight. My only complaint is the blue colour :-)
I might be in the market for a few more of these now that I have more grain in the offing from Cara's group buy.

Very slow here aswell-is this a normal lead time from maltsers? They were paid by bank transfer at the start of last week, I sent an email askin for an update today and their response was as follows
"Hi there
Will be collected by our courier Tuesday the 10th of September and should be with you no later than 2 to 3 days later

Malt arrived in Dublin today and will be sent to the warehouse tomorrow.
@Delzep, the hops, as discussed, where purchased from another vendor and postage was just too expensive to Dublin so where delivered to my parents in the North. I'm collecting them early next week as I'm away elsewhere this weekend. I will deliver them personally to you. I have a few other varieties available of which I will post up.
Anyone INVOLVED needing the warehouse address please PM me.
