I remember some Irish Teacher in school telling us that when we Dub,s referred to our girlfriends as "me mot" we were using slang Irish which came from "mo cailín maith", my good girl. But then again he was a culchie. :D

I did wonder where that came from.

Lads, is this the one where we are having a little homebrew competition?

If so I have one bottle of stout I can bring along and see how it is. This is the bottle conditioned version, not sure any of you have had it.

1. Tube. Probably Kolsch from the keg.
2. ColinC Lime wheat beer kit
3. DEMPSEY still researching
4. Saruman - mooching or stout
5. imark - wit & helles bock
6   BRENMURPH
Traditional Dusseldorf Altbier ( ale yeast and lagered)
Peat smoked Dana beer (lager yeast and lagered)  This is made with DANA hops but Dana refers to "all kinds of everything"
Traditional North German Altbier (Lager yeast and lagered)
Summer Spruce ale (should be ready on time)
7. Weiss - Grapefruit hefeweizen and strawberry flavoured cider.

Right so.... Lads, we are doing the little competition this month.

€2 entry, one prize winning winner, winner takes the pot.

It's not mandatory of course but anyone bringing beer might as well enter. That means, if you have beer we have already tasted at some point, if you think it's good enough, bring it for the competition.

Now to see if I can rope someone from Capital Brewers to come along for impartial judging.
Or we can do it ourselves, perhaps everyone chips in with the judging, minus your own beer.

We can be informal about it. No need to worry about judges knowing who's beer it is.

What do people think regarding the judging?

Was there any restrictions agreed on? I might drop a brew over as I won't be there on the night

Saruman (Reuben Gray)

No restrictions were agreed upon, though if you are not here.... how can you take the pot if you win?  ;)

Ah I thought this was for the September thing.

Saruman (Reuben Gray)

Drop off beer. I'm sure if you win, some honest person will hang on to it for you.
