Re-using yeast

I've half a demijohn of "wine" which I'm about to bottle. It's juice on top of young's wine yeast.

When I'm done can I put more juice in on the yeast cake or should I dump it?

After about 2 or 3 weeks in the DJ I rack off into another clean DJ.

If I am making another batch of the same I usually just add fresh juice and a pinch of nutrient to the Tub: "oops I mean Trub" ( Already I see a re-naming about to happen ).

Have done this yesterday with my Aldi Peach n White grape wine

Now on 3rd pitching.

If there is an excess of trub?

Simples pour half into a clean DJ and then double up. Repeat!!

Rember the tale of the guy who invented the game of Chess for his King?

The king was so impressed he asked the inventor what would he like in repayment?

"Gold, Silver Jewels, the daughter"!!

"No thanks yer Maj, you can keep the ugly one and all that Tat!", he replied.

"What I WOULD like is if you put one grain of rice on the first square, two on second, 4 on the third etc"

The King thought: " Rice Ehh Simples".

"Oy!! Page!!, bring me a bage of rice". Just then the court mathematician whispered in the Kings ear: "Have you any idea what 2 to the power 64 is!"

[We won't go into the fact that is 2^64 + 2^63...+2^2 = 2 + 1 ( You get the idea its BIG )]

The thicko king hadn't a clue but the brainy one informed him that it was  more rice than would ever be produced in the world EVER!

So the mathematician convinced the king that the inventor was a right chancer and so the king had him executed!

Whats this got to do with wine making?

I do believe that this is an allegory for yeast propagation ;-)
