I've got a 2L growler of my fresh hopped black rye I could bring if there's a large enough number going to justify it.

Was a pretty decent turn out in the end with 8 members in attendance.

Mark, Giacomo, Declan, Diarmuid, Dempsey, Ross, Damien and myself.

We had 10 beers between us to sample, 1st up was a Weiss beer which went down well. It was brewed with the mauribrew weiss yeast. comments were that it was a very drinkable beer but neutral with it neither being very banana or clove.

2nd beer was an American pale - again beer very well recived and drinkable but lacking aroma. hop choice could have being slightly better. This beer was brewed with the grain and yeast provided by HBW for those at Brewcon.

3rd - Kolsch, missed the chat about this  :D

4th - Belgian Pale - something just not right with this beer, not enough carbonation and tasted very young. was brewed with T58 yeast.

5th - Saison - Again another beer that was just not as good as it should have being. MJ saison yeast.

6th - Red IPA - Very good beer and at 7.5% was well balanced, one of the favourites of the meeting.

7th - Belgian stout - Another good beer, even if i do say so myself. mixed style beer with Abayye yeast and 9 different grains including Pilsner, aromatic, special B and roasted barley.

8th - Imperial stout - Excellent beer with one lucky member bringing home a spare bottle. at 9.5% it poured thick and creamy with great aroma of coffee . would love to drink more of this beer, made for a winters evening.

9th - An Old Bruin that was bottled in 2015- i quite enjoyed this beer.

10th - Flanders Red, we kept the best till last. Loved this beer, had so much goin on yet not one was over powering. A style of beer i will be brewing and buying plenty of.

Over all a good meeting with plenty of chat and laughs, some excellent beers, some good beers .

Roll on the next meeting.
