Germans?

Sure, but why here, now? Will they have a stand outside Croke Park on Saturday?

delzep

Do people even drink Amstel here? Only time I ever see it mentioned is on Champions League nights (and that could be from a few years back??)

Eoin

Amstel us Dutch, Radler is German.... The two don't mix over there in marketing terms....

delzep

I thought the Germans loved the Dutch though......

mr hoppy

When I say here I mean Ireland.

Amstel is a Heineken economy brand and I guess that's the basis it's sold on here - students etc.

mr hoppy

I hear you Eoin, but there's Groslch weiss out there already as another example of deutschplotation from those crafty mussel munching, reefer smoking, polder diggers.

johnrm

Amstel is more palateable than Henieken IMO.

The Germans don't mind the Dutch so much, but they would not be happy with the cultural mash up. The Dutch really don't like the Germans at all at all, come to think of it they don't really like anyone who isn't Dutch......

Im very surprised its taken this long for radlers to come here. I like radlers, nice refreshing drinl although it does go better with a bit of sun.
I had a few of these last weekend and they are pretty good, ive had a good few bad radlers.

DEMPSEY

Saw an add last night for Fosters radler.

I suppose it's not cool to call them shandy anymore :(

More like, you can't charge as much. The way these are packaged I'd imagine they are priced closer to beer than a soft drink.
