Flying a kite.
Is that yer excuse for not coming?
Very funny
Let's start by picking a location.
Fran Well? I've not been there in a while.
Need to pick a date and time too.
Post up here lads.
Over 2 weeks, one nibble and no bite?
Whoops I thought I had posted, I'm free all the time
I'll just do my usual: Stay quiet, let ye decide and see on the day.
Like I said not the FW this weekend. Otherwise I'm up for it.
Friday 30th then?
works for me
Good for me too.
Yup good with me
I've not booked any place, so how's about Wetherspoons?
Bring bottles for swaps, I wouldn't even ask about tasters.
I'm doing Cinderella, herself is away do in early and away early.
Meet from 7:30?
So I was meant to be getting the 6 o'clock plane from Heathrow but I was on standby as it was full, I'm now on the 10 o'clock flight so I can't make it tonight.
This still on?
Yep, Wetherspoons, whatever it's called.
The Linen Weaver. Upstairs.
For now...
what did you think of the linen weaver lads ?
It's ok, but not at all suited to a gang of lads.
Some interesting Cask, but a bit hit and miss as to what is on tap.
Great place to try out cask and get sloshed cheap @EUR2.50 a pint.
felt the same about the place myself , but i do love the price , fine for a quick afternoon pint .......followed by a slow one in the oval . was there much of a crowd in ? it being a friday night and all that
i hope ye didnt sample the food ......... >:D
The place was full, struggled to get a seat.
Mr. Hoppy had food. Looks like the same fare as the UK.
Reasonably priced too.
i hope he is ok .........lol , im glad they are busy tbh , maybe show people that good beer doesnt have to cost an arm and a leg . what "guest" beers did they have on tap ? im hopeing hobgoblin is still on and maybe more irish craft .......
Service was poor.
The staff didn't know anything about the beer, just pointed at the pump clips, most of which were turned away as they were out.
My guess is that they ration the casks, so you move to draught.
It's all fresh though, and did I say cheap?
The model is that they get kegs of short dated dated product sent into Dublin and distributed,, they are just random kegs which can be a bit like cask roulette, and great if you come across a good one for 2.50/pint
A positive note is the presentation of the product on cask and not some of the pints of yeast soup I've had elsewhere.
