Title: Possible gas leak
Post by: BrewDorg on March 13, 2017, 10:25:51 PM
Just looking for an opinion. My 5kg gas tank just emptied a couple of days into force carbing. Now, I'm not sure if this is down to a leak or if I've used it all. I've force carbed 7 kegs with it - 1 10L and 6 19L. The two kegs currently in the kegerator are still holding 12psi for over 24 hours. What's going on here? Is 7 kegs not a very low number for a 5kg tank?

Secondary question: anyone driving Bray-Kilkenny soon  8)

If you purged those kegs and carved them it's probably about 5kg cylinder with I think.
I use leak detector spray regularly as you never know when leak will happen.
I have 3 spare full bottles CO2 if your stuck  :)

Nice one Declan, think I'll take you up on that! :) I can never get to Bray during working hours. Going to buy a spare next time I get up there too.

What leak detector spray do you use? How does that work then?

Its just a spray  can with fluid that shows up leaks easily. Just a fancy way of spraying some soapy liquid around air connections.
I have spare one of those also  ;)
