Hi. Im trying to make the clone of Old Rasputin Imperial Stout. Got the recipe from byo.com
This is the original recipe:
4.5 kg Coopers Light malt extract syrup
450 g Hugh Baird Carastan malt
227 g Hugh Baird Brown malt
227 g chocolate malt
450 g crystal malt (120° L)
114 g roasted black barley
22.7 AAU Cluster hops (bittering) (3.25 oz. of 7% alpha acid)
9.0 AAU Northern Brewer hops (aroma hops) (1 oz. of 9% alpha acid)
8.8 AAU Centennial hops (aroma) (1 oz. of 8.8% alpha acid)
As some of the hops and grains are not available here i had to do few changes. Can anyone with more experience let me know how this would work out.
Modified recipe:
4.5 kg Light malt extract

looks good. Remember that BYO recipes themselves have shown not to be as accurate to the beer they are cloning sometimes. I seem to recall their Fullers recipes a bit out. ;)
Thanks. I never tried Old Rasputin so i dont know the difference :D
What numbers are you aiming for?
Batch size, OG, IBU?
Batch size should be 19 l. OG 1090, fg 1022 and ibus 85-95, abv 9%

AHA have the recipe too. Dunno if its the same. https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/homebrew-recipe/north-coast-old-rasputin-clone/
I brewed this extract recipe a few years back, turned out ok. Finished a bit sweet for me; if I was doing it again Id use a yeast that finishes drier; notti maybe.
