Title: Warped Grainfather Malt pipe
Post by: mick02 on October 25, 2019, 08:28:48 PM
Good even all,

I've been struggling for about 18 months with my Grainfather. The malt pipe (the SS insert with the metal filters at both ends) has become misshapen. Now when I brew the top plate slips down the SS cylinder during the mash. I have to put a filter on the top of the overflow inlet to prevent the grain etc from going through. That has caused it's own issues. My question is ... does anyone know how to get a SS cylinder back into shape? I've tried rolling it on the floor with mild pressure applied but that hasn't worked.

I would consider buying a new insert but I don't think that they are sold separately.

Anyone out there have any advice?

Cheers,

Mick

It looks like you can get them direct from the Grainfather ... this is from their uk site

Well fuck me! Cheers dude. I was looking around for a while for a replacement. A bit spendy but it's exactly what I'm looking for.
