Title: Adding fruit to Extract kit
Post by: Robbiedrog on August 08, 2020, 07:10:01 PM
Hi all, I've surplus xeina Gooseberries and was wondering can these be added to a extract kit? I have a mangrove jacks Belgian Saison that I'd like to use them with, has anyone done it before with a extract kit? At what point do I add the gooseberries? The kit makes 18ltrs, how much berries to add? Any advice I would be very grateful.

Thanks

Rob

No different adding to extract as it is to all grain or kits. For fruit, I'd normally freeze it and add to secondary. Rack on top of the frozen fruit. Sounds like an interesting recipe.

Thanks Nigel, would 500g of gooseberries be too much for 18ltr of brew? Would it be better bottled or in a keg for carbonation?
