Keg spear removal

Do you have my advice for other types. I've been trying to removed the spear from an S and U type to no avail.

Get a Stanley wunderbar.. it end fits perfectly between the lugs.  Turn until it's free and at that point you need a 1" extension (adapter for drill/screwdriver) sit it on top of the spear over the hole, put your coupler on and engage to release clip...
I use six of these type kegs and all open in seconds..

Indeed pressure has been released from both, and I got a few lumps of muck into me eye.  Which size of the wonder bar fits the fitting?  I assume you're talking about the U-type.

I have the S-type one nearly opened, its getting the catch to engage so I can lift out the assembly thats catching me.

I tried to get spears out if my kegs and in the end just used the angle grinder and carved them off. Was very satisfying after all the faffing around

Indeed, however I much prefer the idea of using it as a fermenter or for long aging. I've no use for a mash tun/kettle that size

Use a coupler with a 2C coin dropped into the top of the spear first for the s type. This allows the coupler to push an extra bit and disengages the safety
