so i simplified this as much i could, a few feet of qualplex, one tee. thats it. the slotted ring of qualplex wedges into the bottom of the cooler then with the outlet, i just siphon into boiler. tried a dry (wet) run with just water and drained fine, hope its ok when its full of grain.

or convert and insulate a keg

had the cooler already so said would try it and at least this way i havent destroyed it so willing to try that first. already seeking a keg for a boiler so the little cooler will have to be the mash to get me started at least.
