Saw this on Reuben's blog, I think it's a blogger thing, but I thought it might be interesting if we floated our own ideas......

- Best Irish Cask Beer - Dunno, not a fan of cask, and we don't do it that well anyway
- Best Irish Keg Beer - Galway Hooker, still yummy after all these years
- Best Irish Bottled or Canned Beer - Devil's Half Acre
- Best Overseas Draught Beer - Tough one. Pilsner Urquell maybe.
- Best Overseas Bottled or Canned Beer - Fuller's London Porter
- Best Collaboration Brew - Not up on my collab brews, but Dec and Alex didn't do a bad job!
- Best Overall Beer - Anything with gueuze/gueze in the title.
- Best Branding, Pumpclip or Label - Brú. Clean and simple.
- Worst Branding, Pumpclip or Label - more than one unfortunately!
- Best Irish Brewery - Probably Brú for refreshingly simple no bullshit approach to business.
- Best Overseas Brewery - Anywhere that does gueuze/gueze.
- Best New Brewery Opening 2013 - Kind of answered already.
- Pub/Bar of the Year - Porterhouse Temple Bar.
- Best New Pub/Bar Opening 2013 - I think the only new one was 57 The Headline?
- Beer Festival of the Year - No competition. The NHC gig in the Bernard Shaw. More award winning beers under one roof than any other beer festival!
- Supermarket of the Year - Probably Superquinn.
- Independent Retailer of the Year - Dunno really.
- Online Retailer of the Year - Dunno
- Best Beer Book or Magazine - "A bottle of Guinness please". Great history of brewing. Not new, but new to me.
- Best Beer Blog or Website - you're looking at it :)
- Best Beer App - Don't use any
- Simon Johnson Award for Best Beer Twitterer - can't stand twitter!
- Best Brewery Website/Social media - Tough one. I did like the Smithwicks website. It was epic!
- Food and Beer Pairing of the Year - So many, but any of Dodge's beers with his shoulder of pork.

It's a blogger thing yes. Golden pints to be pedantic.

Here's my original post by the way. http://www.taleofale.com/2013/12/golden-pints-awards-2013.html
