Had a pint of this in Connolly Station recently. I didn't find it too bad at all, in fact I was semi-impressed. Has the biscuity bite but a lot less of the hops that say Pilsner Urquell has. Having said that I was tiring of the Saaz over zestyness of PU on draught. All in not a bad pilsner and probably one of the better Irish brewed lagers.

The name comes from one of my favourite bits of Irish history (and one of the few bits I remember from school), the battle of Clonmel, between Cromwell and Black Hugh O'Neill. The latter was a son of Tyrone's Art Óg O'Neill, who fled during the flight of the earls, and so grew up in and was militarily trained in Belgium. Using some pretty gruesome tactics inflicted the biggest losses on the New Model Army in their time in Ireland.

That stuff's everywhere suddenly. Normally found beside a Heverlee tap. Tried a pint. I would have summed it up as 'inoffensive' had the bar not robbed me of 5 quid for the 'pleasure'.
