Looking to try something totally different for Christmas

This was the year that I branched out fully into beer appreciation. Anyway will keep it short but looking for one standout beer to add to the shopping list, doesn't even have to be amazing but something that will give me a wow moment similar to that first can of punk IPA.

I know nothing about German beers bar the standard weissbeers over here.

I'm guessing I'm looking for something smoked or something sour.

So far on the list it's

Goose Island - Bourbon County Stout.

Bubbles

While I don't think this years is as good as last years, Sierra Nevada Hoptimum delivers a "smack around the face" bitterness that would appeal to a Punk IPA drinker. The SN Bigfoot is a really special beer and worth a try if you haven't had it before.

Anything by nogne - expensive, but a nice treat occasionally. The Imperial Stout is great, as is the funky saison.

For something sour - Rodenbach flanders Red - not easy to source, but the specialist off licences will have it.

Hop Bomb

I brewed a black berliner weiss in Galway Bay. Hits the bars from today. Get yerself a growler of that for crimbo dinner :)
On tap: Flanders, Gose,
Fermenting: Oatmeal Brown, 200ish Fathoms,
Ageing: bretted 1890 export stout.
To brew:  2015 RIS, Kellerbier, Altbier.

Sounds great. Will be in Dublin city tonight, is it available here tonight?

Should be yeah. Brewdock & the 108 are the only bars that have tweeted it so far but its early yet. Im sure all the Dublin GBB bars will have it on later.
