Title: Flanders Sour Red on Cherries
Post by: stevosan on June 30, 2020, 08:18:56 PM
Hi All
Got into sour brewing last year and laid down 2 Flanders red batches (both recipes from American Sour Beers / www.themadfermentationist.com) - one with Roeslare in primary and the other with 05 in primary and Roeselare added to secondary. My batches got a bit mixed up but I think the Roeslare in primary works faster. Both tasting pretty good though.
Anyhow,   one of them seemed to be maturing and souring nicely this year (14 months) so was looking to age 10L + on cherries.
But where to get them?
after hearing about Russian river using quite a bit of dried fruit and currants, got this off Amazon and 2 months in must say I am very happy with the results - dare I say quite 3 Fontein Kriek-ish

search for:
Organic Dried Sour Cherries 1 kg Fairtrade raw Sun-Dried unsweetened unoiled 1000g
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KKDZB5R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The joys of Globalization.
I added 1kg of these to 10L, so far so good!
