5 of us made the November meet. It was a great experience.

The next one is January 31st at 1pm at the Wolftrap. Plenty of advanced notice on this one.

In like some lunatic called Flynn.

Checked the trains and they're spot on. Possible after-party in Athlone so!

Dodge

You know I never thought of the train!

Saruman (Reuben Gray)

Now there's an idea. Never thought about the train from Tullamore to Athlone. If I missed my bus to Rochfortbridge, I could get the train to Athlone and then the bus home.

Sounds like the after-party might be on the train so!

I'm going to try make this! Brewing on a very micro scale here in Athlone!
1 gallon batches! Only 2 batches in. I'll make sure to have something worth bringing by the end of January!

Hey athlone lads,
I'm from town but live in Dublin now, but am down on a fairly regular basis at weekends,if ye are brewing any weekend keep me posted. Doing kit hacking, but moving on to all grain when I get my arse in gear. Have most of the kit ,just need to get the last few bits. Talk soon

Hi all,

I'm able to make this meet after all so I'm a well happy camper this Monday morning  ;D

What's the usual story? Do people bring along brews to share, or do they just get the pubs offerings?  I was in on Friday night and they've got some great stuff on offer - 4 taps and loads of bottles.

Hopefully, see you all Saturday.

Bring homebrew if you have some yes.

Hi Reuban, what style of beer is the Beoir#2 samples you'll be bringing
Tapped: Brown Porter, Dortmunder, Rye IPA
Bottled: Barrel RIS, Barrel Red Flanders, Oatmeal Stout
Fermenting: Barrel triple, NEIPA
Planned: Pilsner, Hazy Pale Ale, something Belgian

Saruman (Reuben Gray)

They are supposed to be imperial red ales. Neither of which are as they should be due to brewday disasters and grain/efficiency issues.

Mmm interesting, that style is on my next brew list after a Barley wine I'm doing this weekend and a black IPA after that.
The only one I've had was the Sierra Nevada beer camp one http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/140/83925/ and that was lovely.

Just an update on this. There were 9 of us including Dave from Bo Bristle. The Woltrap had taken my advice and got 3 rotation taps from Vanguard so we had Sheep Stealer, Big Hop Red and Stony Grey IPA along with a load of homebrew.
Dave brought in a bottle of the Bo Bristle chocolate milk stout for us to compare to Roger's as well as a fantastic Tokyo* clone he got from Ian Bergin.
