Afternoon all, new brewer in Waterford here.

Have put up a few hacked kits so far that are just moving to bottles over the weekend.

Put together my first all grain brew (BIAB) last night and may have made a bit of a balls of it (Mash temp too high) so signing up for more info so that does'nt happen again !

Welcome on board ac/dc
What beer was the BIAB and what temp did you get to with your mash?

Nice one, brave doing the all grain, you'll never go back now but for the odd quick quality kit. I live near Cashel but originally from Bonmahon!👍

It was the HBC American Double IPA. May have been a bit anbitious for a first attempt.

Mash temp got up to the 75 - 78 range so pretty high. Basically I didnt know what my boiler was capable of to keep at a constant temp so thought id have to switch on/off the boiler instead of just reaching temp insulating and leaving it alone.

Its fermenting away happily enough now so if it turns out any way drinkable ill be happy.

Learned a ton of info quickly by jumping into the AG so definately worth it.

Heeler - only 20 mins from Bonmahon myself in Portlaw
