Adding extra Hops to IPA Kit

A lot of the IPA kits out there come with 50g of hop pellets. I have done the Young's American IPA which comes with 100g of Simcoe / Centennial / Chinook Hops.
I love this kit and was wondering what people think of dry hopping Kits with only 50g with an extra 50g of Citra or Simcoe. Would it upset the balance?
I just did the Munton's American Style IPA and was very disappointed with the lack of Citrus coming through. It might have benefited from an extra boost.
Would love to know what people think.

I've recently bottled a "Craft Range IPA" which ships with 75g of hops.  The brew was drinkable VERY young and had a strong hops nose at that time, but it is settling down over the last week or two.  IMO, if the dry hopping was held off until the last few days of the brew rather than "at 10 days" as suggested, then it would be sufficient for a result that is similar to an average hopped IPA.

Bunging an extra dose of hops into a lighter kit seems reasonable - especially as it's you that has to like it!
