Title: Wanted - Porterhouse Chiller recipe
Post by: neoanto on January 23, 2018, 10:41:45 AM
Hey guys.
I was in the porterhouse last weekend and tried their Chiller for the first time.
It is super nice! So tasty.
I was wondering has anyone tried to make a clone?

It seems to me that it's basically and American standard lager but maybe instead of rice they're using corn or flaked maize? I'm saying this because it has a corn type of after taste rather than rice.

If anyone has a recipe for a clone that would be great

They claim there's no adjuncts in it... http://www.theporterhouse.ie/beers-chiller.php (http://www.theporterhouse.ie/beers-chiller.php)

I'd be skeptical as well though as it tastes very light indeed.

Wow yea it definitely tastes like there is rice or corn in it.
I don't know how they get that flavour profile out of a single lager malt.

It might be the yeast giving that flavour

I have a vague recollection of previous Porterhouse menus saying they used rice. Could be wrong though.
