Title: Franciscan Well Stout, Aged in jameson casks
Post by: LordEoin on December 18, 2013, 06:03:42 PM
Secret Santa got me a liter fliptop of this. 821/2000, best before May 2014.

QuoteSmooth Franciscan Well Brewery Stout has been aged in Jameson Irish whiskey casks.
The Oak casks infuse wonerfully unique flavours into the stout giving it a warm whikey flavoured finish

Anyone know more about it?

Yep, apparently 820 through 825/2000 were accidentally tainted with a rare radioactive isotope.

Fortunately, I'm an expert on the disposal of hazardous waste so I can get rid of it for you if you want.

Drink it a little colder than you might drink a regular stout/imperial stout. The oak and vanilla can dominate a bit if it's too warm. Great beer

I bought two bottles to give as Christmas presents. I drank one of them. Very tasty, not sure if it was as tasty as last year. So, I drank the second one. Tasty as well. Definitely tasty stuff. There are going to be two disappointed punters discovering they have got socks again this year. Oops.
