Title: Howyiz!
Post by: Percy on February 26, 2014, 12:30:27 AM
Hello folks. Just another newbie that got a beer kit for Xmas ( Coopers kit)
Started first brew today ... the real ale that came with the kit. Ive left the fermenter in the boxroom upstairs and id say ive weakened the structure of the stairs by the amount of times ive run up to check it today.
was worried at first as there was no foam whatsover on top just before i pitched the yeast but gradually it has increased over the last few hours.

Im already thinking of my next brew and as a fan of smithwicks ill be looking to do a red ale... any suggestions on which to get?.... remember im a complete novice at this so what ingredients exactly will i need to kick this off...??
cheers!
Percy

Get a Woodforde Wherry kit. Bit more expensive, but a delicious brew

Woodfordes Wherry is a two can kit so it has all you need. Its not quite Smithwicks...more an English bitter, buts its one of the best kits out there in my opinion
