Title: Recipe suggestions to use up some leftover hops
Post by: molc on July 08, 2014, 12:07:54 PM
So, I have a mixbag of ingredients left over from my last few brews, so I'm looking out for some experimental ideas. Thinking of making some small batches to use these, but unsure what to do. I've never made small batches, so maybe that's an idea...

Here's what I have:
Grain:
500g Crystal 240EBC
250g Black Malt
200g Biscuit Malt
500g flaked oats
250g Aromatic Malt

Hops
100g Northern Brewer
50g Centennial
50g Cluster
50g Galena
50g Challenger
50g Stryian Goldings
50g Saaz

Yeast:
Washed WLP001
Washed WLP550

Any ideas?

How about a variation off something like this? :  http://www.beersmith.com/Recipes2/recipe_121.htm (http://www.beersmith.com/Recipes2/recipe_121.htm)
but using the california ale yeast, and substituting the cascade with centennial

Mmm, that sounds tasty and been meaning to try out a anchor steam styled beer. Good way to see how the centennial works as well, since I've used a lot of Northern Brewer for bittering so far. Guessing I'll pick up 2 1.2kg pouches of Craft Range LME and add dry malt to bring it upto 2.72kg (6lb from recipe)

I think my weekend is sorted. Thanks! :)

Just a quick thanks on this one. Only getting around to ordering now, but making this and an amber ale with the leftovers :)
