2017 growing season

2017 has been a very different year.  I suspect it has been warmer and dryer - but quite overcast here in Donegal.  Everything is early.  My experience to date is lots of healthy but small fruit.  I'd say the dessert fruit are 2-3 weeks ahead, already bright red and beginning to drop off the trees.  I harvest this week.  Pears are showing well too and I took buckets of cherries in July.  The big question now is how will the cider fruit mature?  The apples are still small but all are healthy although I'd say the overall weight will be down :-(   My guess is they too will be early, small and ripe!  Fingers crossed.  Harvest season is fraught!

Speaking of harvest - this has developed on my (allegedly decorative) cheese plant.  Maybe in for an exotic treat ;-)

No spare juice then?  >:D
Spare JUICE*?  When did "the wee hard green apples from round the back of the tree" become JUICE?

:P

* I'm not sure I've seen those two words so close together before.  Chilling.
