Anyone build an off set cold smoker? If so what type of wood did you use? I'm thinking of making a box out of ply or something, but just wondering about the treatment that might be used on the wood. Any advice or links would be great. Cheers.

Cheers Lord Eoin. Have a space marked out in the garden already (in my head) for a fire pit with a flue attached and a smoking box of some sort at the other end. Looking for suggestions for what type of wood to use for the box.
