Second keg for the expo was filled last night.
It's the Porter mash kit from thehomebrewcompany.ie, so if anyone likes the samples they should be able to pick up the ingredients right next to the bar counter! I think it's turned out very very well. I'd be surprised if it lasts long on the day!

The other keg is my oatmeal brown ale, with 20% oats, amber malt, brown malt and williamette hops. It should be very similar to the one I served last year as "Wholesome breakfast beer". I did have a bit of trouble keeping mash temperatures in the right range, but it still tasted lovely when I was kegging it.

There should be a good selection of other beers at the bar too, with bottles from the ESB brew-off and possibly some of the Mai-bock brew-off bottles too.

I'm getting excited waiting for it!! :-)

Great day was had by all
I'll try posting up a few Pics later !!!

Fueled with the excitement of the weekend , I started a blackcurrant Wine last night ,

Anybody have any thoughts on this

3kgs Frozen Blackcurrants
3Kgs Demerara Sugar
Jar Honey
500g Raisins

Topped up to the 24l mark on my shiny new brewbucket ! . ( I boiled the currants Honey and 2 Kgs sugar in about 5 l of water and I defrosted the Blackcurrants with about 3 litres of boiled water plus the other Kg of Sugar)

It seemed low for sg ( about 1050 ) so I might have to add another kG of Sugar .
I'm aiming to fill a corny for bulk maturation
