Germinating Malted Barley/Wheat

As the topic says this grain is a base grain that has been MALTED

Remember at the first Brewconn when the malt man said "malted grain can germinate"!

Even though its been kilned at say 50C there is some viability.

Ok thought Will, fat chance of that.

Fast foreward to a few weeks ago when I chucked out some of the Original whole, NHC malt!!.

After a week or so I could smell acetic acid as the malt/rain/mash had made some alcohol which was now oxidising.

The sparrows and the starlings love it tho' and Yes they can fly straight!

After another week or so here is what I found growing on the compost heap:
