Next in the series is a discussion on AG recipe formulation.

I will bring along grain, scale, and 2 x Mills and mash tun.
I will explain the workings of the mill and the importance of the crush.

We will put together enough grain for a batch of beer, grind it and have it ready for the mash.

I will take some hot water and do a tiny 'Mash' - enoough to get a feel for the Wort.

Kegs are empty, so I'll bring a few random bottles.

If I can get the kids to sleep soon I might make this one :D

That was intimate.

My bad in part for last minute tweet.
The weather didn't help, nor did the fact that there was a Community meeting in the Hotel at relatively short notice which pulled locals with kids, SWMBO included.

1st Wednesday in the month proved messy with the Jan Meet falling on Jan 1st, so moving to 2nd Wednesday ongoing. That means next meet will be Feb 12th.

Thanks Garry for braving the elements.
The bottle I gave you is NOT Edels Weiss, its Wish Dawter (Dish water) - a second running of the top-up for the Barrel Stout.

Rough plan for the NEXT meet (which will be heavily advertised...)
We will cook another kit, I think Brian volunteered, I'll hook up with him and we'll work out the detail/logistics.
Temperature control - The importance of this and how to regulate this and the impact on final beer.
Yeast - Forget your dog, Yeast is mans best friend! Care your yeast and the reward is great! Types, Where to get it, harvesting, aging.

BrĂș stout on draft on the night - very tasty!

that was really interesting and helpful - thanks John et al for sharing info.

I'm sure a bit more advertising beforehand will get the numbers back up nicely.
