Title: Short notice brewday
Post by: Kevco5 on November 11, 2015, 11:11:52 PM
I know this won't suit everybody at such short notice and I apologise but it's an opportunity that couldn't be turned down.

Tom (hop bomb) is boiling a sour beer on the pro kit at Galway Bay Brewery this Sunday the 15th.
While that's going on there'll be an all grain demo on at least two kits - my own self built electric/gas cooler box system and Tom's kit featuring big shiny stainless thermo pots chugger pumps and a plate chiller!

We will get to work on organising another day either at the oslo for a traditional meet or hopefully another brewday at GBB, I'm thinking first Friday in December.

There may be a bit of grub on the day so stick your name down if you can make it!

regards
Kev

Is this the day for bringing along the HBW Pilsner Malt?

we won't be using it on the day, but if you want to get it off your hands you can bring it along.

Might as well, I suppose. Look forward to it. Any idea on a start time?

Here is a link to google maps https://goo.gl/maps/eBR4yBynKS32 (https://goo.gl/maps/eBR4yBynKS32) If you look at streetview there is a holemasters van outside.

As this is my first Galway Home Brewers Club meeting, I have a question, possibly a really stupid one. Is this an event where one is expected to bring/drink beer?  :-\ I'm just wondering should I get dropped over or drive.

We usually bring along samples of our brews to these meetings - no pressure though.
Get a lift just in case!

Barry and I can't  make it unfortunately. Wild Bat have a stand at the Galway Craft & Food Fair in the Black Box. Call in if you're in the area entry is free and you can get the Christmas shopping done!

If anyone is wondering where we are, we are at unit 12b

My first meeting with the local club. Great day. Thanks to everyone for the chat and advice, especially HopBomb and Kevco5 for the work they put in. Looking forward to the next one.

Yeah my first meeting too, it was a good day and thanks for organising. I'll be keen for a tasting get-together if it can be organised and I promise my "educational" DMS-ridden pilsner malt brew was a once-off.

I'll happily re-taste it at the next meet to see if it's faded!!  ;D

Great turnout. 20 people at our busiest? Cheers to everyone for coming.
