Title: Hop rhizomes looking for a home
Post by: Water_Wolf on February 08, 2020, 09:54:21 PM
My potted hop plants have gotten very pot bound, so I have started splitting them to try and give them some more space.

As a result, I cut off a bunch of hop rhizomes today, if anyone would like them. They are all First Gold which is a dwarf variety that grows about 2 - 3 metres. The plants are only two years old so there aren't as many buds on the rhizomes as there could be, but they should still grow.

I'm based in South Dublin. Could bring some along to the next Capital meet too. Otherwise they'll just end up on the compost heap!

Probably the worst place to put them if you are trying to reduce your hop population!

They will grow away like hell given a compost heap to feed on!!
