They are food grade but not alcohol grade.

Same issue with a clear glass demijohn, and I'm sure if we can put a man on the moon we can solve that one  ;D My solution was to put it in a dark place ... honestly, LOL  :D

Anyways, I'm meandering off the OP's topic, so will leave it there.

Just got the Brewferm mini keg starter kit from the wife for my birthday so excited to cut out a lot of bottling hassle. they should be perfect for one gallon batches

It's finally happened-  I added something useful to the forums! :D

I moved onto a full keg setup in the end, but they were dead handy at the beginning when I was just getting into kegging. The carb level is a little lower than bottles, so I suggest style wit that in mind, like stouts and english bitters etc.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

If you go this method, do you go through a lot of yeast?  Would you just use Dry Yeast and split packets..  Just curious how you manages that part rather that having to put a pack into each brew.

Joe Cal

I've split dry yeast into 3 little bags. I also rinse and repitch
