Ciderhead

Just popped by to see how's she cutting as we are all done in wickla and ready to go, no spares to contribute to SDB though apart from myself :'(
What happened here?
How can we get this back on track?
I bought all the ingredients for wickla and including barrel for 200L its working out at €25 a head

I could be tempted to join in on this one too, wouldn't like to see it go down the swany!
Only thing stopping me is FV space and the timing between this one and the wickala one.

Ciderhead

Good man, we can show them how its done.
Frankly I thought SCD would be swamped, then forgot you all Drink Heino ;)

Bubbles

Yeah Ciderhead, it's been a bit of a let down to be honest. We had a good level of interest from people so myself and Shanna decided to press on with it. But a couple of people have backed out and other expressions of interest just haven't materialised into firm commitments.

We don't want to leave the barrel unfilled too long. I'm going to be pretty pissed off having lost 50 lids, and Shanna's going to have a great big barrel taking up space in his workshop while we decide what to do with it.

Andrew, JohnC, mcgrath, thanks for your interest, all contributions are welcome, regardless of the volume.

Let's give it a few more days anyway - just put your name down on the list above if you want to commit. We should aim to get brewing in the next week or so.

Cheers lads.

Hi PaddyB

We will make sure that your not left out of pocket re the barrel. I talked you into it. I ordered a bunch of speciality malt yesterday so no going back.

I have ordered a fair bit of hops for it too...I will probably brew the recipe regardless though.

Come on folks, if Cara and Padraic can do one between them ;)

1. Paddy Bubbles - 25 litres
2. Shiny - 19 litres
3. Shanna - 20 litres
4. Cider head - 20-25 litres   45L if required
5. Rossa - 20 litres

They are potentially 200L barrels

Andrew, would be great if you could throw another 25 litres into this. Would it be possible for to get a loan of a fermenter for the 3 weeks or so?

I thought I might brew the recipe regardless too, but I just don't have the capacity at the moment (in bottles) to store that amount of 10% beer. I'm hoping for a nice lengthy aging period in the barrel so that I can get my bottles together.

Ciderhead, that's a heroic effort, thank you.

Bubbles

Ok, it's not going to make a shite of a difference, but I've revised mine ever so slightly. I'll be doing 2 x 15 litre batches. With loss to trub, I'd say 27 litres is more realistic.

We now stand at:

1. Paddy Bubbles - 27 litres
2. Shiny - 19 litres
3. Shanna - 40 litres
4. Cider head - 20-25 litres   45L if required
5. Rossa - 20 litres

Andrew, come on!  ;)
