Title: Apple Cider Vinegar
Post by: magnethead on November 13, 2022, 05:23:21 PM
Hi Guys,
Is anyone making some apple Cider Vinegar?
Would you have any spare mother if finished or would you know where to collect a lot of it? I'm making 70Litres because the wife takes this everyday.

Thanks

Don't know of any of our members making vinegar.
I know you can get bottles of vinegar with mother in most big shops so might be an option for you.

Thanks Nigel, that is what I've done now with two of the Carboys..But it's a tonne of juice to process, and I'd prefer a big jellyfish (motherload) to be putting in there, it might just take a bit longer with the small amount of mother i found at the end of those bottles.

I know, it a bad idea to ferment a big batch of anything with a small amount of yeast, it can produce more mutants and strain them, if they go through too many cycles.
Was curious if Bacteria felt the same way, while eating all the alcohol.. :o
