Title: Do salmon taste so good because they are epic?

Bit like Jim Morrison: If he was a (living) crusty old fart instead of an epic dead guy he wouldn't be the legend he is.

So if salmon had a life a bit more normal, like say a perch, would we consider them so tasty?
