I think the thing is they shouldn't have to have the scales. These kits are all about convience. It doesn't hurt thethe companu to write an extra few characters on the instructions.

That's what I'm getting at

Checked gravity yesterday evening.

Had a sneaky taste too, not much else to say apart from that it tastes like an American lager, even at this early stage. Still cloudy.

Gravity is at 1012 today and I have my Fermentation Chamber in the process of rising upto 18 degress.
I'll keep it at 18 degrees for 2 days and I will then transfer to secondary and lager for 4 weeks.

Its just aswell that I'm in the process of putting up a brew shew and cant brew for a while or I'd be less patient with the Fermentation Chamber - another 4 weeks? cmom!  :)

patience is a virtue!

I have a frankenbrau on at the moment that I brewed the same day as you with some munich helles yeast (wlp860) and it's still chugging away steadily... and very slowly...

I kegged it today, after lagering since 31st July, 5 weeks.

To recap:
5th July  - OG 1054
31st July - Transferred to Secondary and Lager at 3deg.
6st Sep - Kegged

Had a taste, pretty much does exactly what it says on the tin and tastes like an american lager.
Slight banana aroma if any experienced lager brewers have any comment on that?

Er your grand thanks, if it looks like an Banana and smells like a Banana well then ...
Although it was in your fermentation fridge so I will give it a go

Tasted it last night.
Nice and clear, banana aroma has faded.
It's a drinkable American Lager. I'd recommend it for the non craft beer drinkers in your lives.
