Great write up.
Didn't see the photo of the library.
Have to agree with you on the group photo, even after the pre meet jar or two of Metalman and the post meet jars of punk yer still a rough looking lot.

BTW me brewing in the early 80s was a few kits that tasted like s**t followed by a 28 year brewing brake and only returned to it last year after tasting some of spuds impressive work and realising that theirs lots of AG ingredients available.
So I fully understand the look you get when you mention homebrew
