Home made yoghurt

Have a basic recipe from a cookbook. But  has anyone tried it. Basically milk and live Nat yoghurt heat etc.
Also I have access to fresh milk,probably needs to be pasteurised.  Is this the same process as say cider???
Other tips???
Wife says to me one day... "so do you love beer more than me?....
Naturally, I replied,...... making it or drinking it??😱😱
