Stillorgan Water Chemistry Profile

Hi folks,

I can see some brewers have usefully posted various outlines of certain areas' water chemistry profile. However, I'm running off the Stillorgan reservoir and cannot find anything concrete. Does anyone happen to know about Stillorgan's water or an avenue to pursue it? The Homebrew Company used to do water testing lab kits but not anymore. Thanks

You will be able to get some of the information off the Irish Water website:

https://www.water.ie/water-supply/water-quality/

But this won't include some of the important values. WHC seems to have stopped doing water analysis...

Your best bet would be to use reverse osmosis water and add minerals back in.

It's reasonably priced at £32.99, and my experience has been that the turnaround between sending your samples and getting your results is very quick. Well worth it if your interested in your brewing water's chemistry.

Thanks folks. I pulled some numbers from a forum from some years ago and they claim Stillorgan water is fairly bland like most Dublin water. They claimed the following:

pH 7.5
Alkalinity 20
Sulfate (SO4) 10 -25
Chloride (Cl) 10 -25
Calcium (Ca) 40 - 45
Magnesium (Mg) 5 -10
Sodium (Na) ?

I've emailed Dublin City Council and Irish Water. Will go off these numbers in my first water chemistry experiment, something simple and hoppy and I'll post if I think it improves my beer.
